This ancient masseria is part of the ancient architectural structure of Agnano and the historical documents date it back to the XIV century. The masseria is protected from a double wall. The first wall, taller and more protective, is made of the typical tuff ashlars (now aged) where it is possible to find lot of shell fossils.
Inside this first wall, there is the core of the masseria: a two-floors building that holds the master’s house and three apartments.
Everything is surrounded by a garden with beautiful olive trees and citruses, on the typical red terrain and the “chianche” (local big stones). In this garden there is the pool. Moreover, at the first floor of the building, an amazing terrace offers a spectacular panoramic view of the countryside. The second wall instead has been completely rebuilt by hand with dry stones and it encloses a vast green land with the new olive tree grove and an ancient farmyard. The floors (identical in every area) have been reinterpreted with square slabs of different materials, in warm and neutral colors that perfectly embrace the typical yellow of the “pietra leccese”. The wood fixtures have been remade by local artisans tracing the original pattern.
Particular attention goes to the beautiful bathrooms: the big sinks, extended wall to wall, are dig up from entire huge blocks of “pietra leccese”. The suites are different among themselves, but all of them are characterized by wide spaces and they hold art pieces from different Italian artists. The living space is different in every suite but it is always divided in a dining area and a relax area. The linear and minimal kitchens, in whiten durmast, are fully equipped. Finally the furniture and decors have been chosen from the best Italian design companies as Cappellini, Gervasoni, Meridiani e Oluce.
Now the masseria is on the lease market with a very innovative formula, different from the standard B&B and agritourism because it offers so much more than a beautiful room with breakfast. The atmosphere is exclusive, unique and magical.
Price upon request.
